Ian is from a family of three children and one of his brothers also lives at Sure24 homes. Ian's father is deceased while his mother is a casual laborer whose income is very minimal thus she left them with their grandmother who is very old. Ian's grandmother was unable to take care of them or even cater for their basic needs. They were brought to Sure24 by the Children's Department who found them in need of care and protection after they were made aware of the situation at home. He is now in class four.
