Child's Background Story:
John's older brother came with him and his wife to Nakuru in 2011 while he was seeking employment and on a good day he would make Kes 50. Due to the struggle Stephen left John with his wife who in turn started mistreating him since she saw him as a burden and thus he ran away from home and landed in the dump site area. He used to sleep outside Lucy's house without her knowledge, then one night she saw him and took him in since then she started looking for ways to help him but it was easy and this made John think of committing suicide but Lucy got someone (The area chief) to counsel him as they waited for well wishers. John got lucky when he was given a chance to come to sure 24 and he says “I will work hard in school so that in future my kids will not suffer like I did”. He had earlier on sat for his Kenya National Exam of primary school but didn't perform well as school was far from home and at times he would miss classes thus he would now like to repeat and work on his grade. He is now enrolled in class four at Living Fountain Academy.
