Reuben completed his Class 8 National exam (K.C.P.E) and scored 318 marks out of 500 marks which is a credit. He joined one of the best provincial schools but unfortunately dropped out in his second term because his mother was unable to raise the school fees. Life became hard and this made Reuben run to the streets. While living on the streets for one year, he used to collect scrap metals and carry luggage to raise money whereby he used to earn 100 shillings per day. Reuben said, “Its hard out there that's why I'm requesting for a second chance. I will work hard in order to help my mum and other kids who are suffering in the streets”. He was brought to Sure 24 homes by the Children's Department who witnessed his need for care and protection. He is now in form three at Rohi boys high school.
